Housing First Village is operated by the Human Resource Development Council (HRDC) at 2007 Wheat Drive, Bozeman, MT, next to HRDC's Warming Center. The village opened in 2021 with 19 energy-efficient tiny homes ranging from about 145 to 358 square feet arranged around shared green space. This is permanent supportive housing for individuals who have experienced chronic homelessness, not a public RV park or bring-your-own lot. Residents pay about 30 percent of income toward rent, or no rent if they have no income. There is no sobriety or employment prerequisite to move in. HRDC provides case management, physical and mental health care, substance use support, and job readiness services. Homes include bathroom, kitchenette with induction cooktop, refrigerator, and heater. Pets are allowed. This is not open for general lot rental; entry is through HRDC outreach and referral for eligible unhoused residents.
